- Tours scheduled March through June 2009
- Tour days: usually Thursday and Friday (however, we will work with the needs of your group).
- Tour Times: standard times of 10:00, 12:00 and 2:00
(however, we will work with the needs of your group).
- Tour group maximum of 30 persons, minimum around 10.
- If tour group exceeds 30 persons, please schedule additional tours. (The animals are frightened, the
barn over-crowded, & hearing the tour-guide is too difficult with over 30 persons.) We can do “back to
back” tours or tours on separate days.
- If you must miss your tour, please call in advance. It takes about two hours of work to prepare for a
tour. Thank-you for your considerateness.
- This is a “real working farm”. We tour a pasture and barn. You will get barnyard “materials” on your
shoes. Wear appropriate footwear: closed toed shoes only. Boots are highly recommended.
- Recommendation: some tour groups bring plastic sacs (grocery store sacs) to tie or rubber band
around their shoes. These are inexpensive, throw away type boots. They are effective. You may
consider doing this. It will save dirt going into the vehicle.
- This is an outdoor tour. Dress according to weather conditions.
- In the case of severe weather, it will be necessary to reschedule tours. Wind and mild rain will not
prohibit the tour, however a downpour will. Please call in advance if the weather is questionable.
- If you find you are running late for arrival on tour day, please call in advance. Thank-you for your
considerateness.
- Picnic area available upon request. We will reserve tables for you for 45 minutes. There are 3 tables
at this time (seat 25-30). If you need additional seating please bring blankets to use in that area.
- Shepherd’s Cross Inc. and its employees/volunteers are in no way responsible to care for your
children. Please oversee them diligently.
- This is a guided, hands on, learning field trip. Please be prepared to listen.
- I will e-mail or mail a “Filed Trip Information Flyer”, giving pertinent details of the tour. Please fill out,
copy and give to all participants in advance of the tour.
- There is no cost for the tour. Donations are graciously accepted.
- Heart of the Shepherd Inc. is our non-profit Christian Mission organization.
- Please check web-site for directions. It takes approximately one hour from central Tulsa.
- Picnic table reservations are for 45 minutes.
- Bathrooms are available
- Questions? Feel free to call Diane at 231-6947.
- Shepherd’s Shop will be open. The Gift Shop features wool products made from the wool produced
on the farm, sheep and Great Shepherd novelties, book items, and a small concession.
- There will be a tour waiver to sign on the day of the tour. Review it here.
- Please respect the animals. No running, “horse play”, or loud voices in the barn or pasture.
The Lord Jesus is my Shepherd. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He restores my soul.
