Our next spinning Class will be September 6th, 10 a.m.--a Spin-n-Knit-In is that afternoon, too! The Dickinsons are taking a mission trip to Thailand, to do medical work in agricultural areas. We will be getting further additions to our gift shop's imports! Our International Goods Shop, is a section of the gift shop to sell imported items through our non-profit. While we're still small, the goal is to be an outlet for underprivileged peoples to sell their products. All profit will return to people ministering to those in poverty, in the areas that the products came from. Thai "bar-girls" (exploited and oppressed) are crafting cards to find a different occupation to support themselves in. Slum families of the Philippines create wallets and lunch-bags from colorful recycled food packages. Anything you buy in this category goes to bettering the lives of the destitute. Want to know more? Our Bible Garden is ready to be roamed! Over a hundred plants with tidbits on their histories and a pertinent Bible verse (often a direct reference) are waiting for discovery. Self- guided tours are available whenever Shepherd's Cross is open, but a tour guide can be arranged ahead of time. Wilma Thompson is our tour guide specialist, and will give you a homespun version of God's majesty in the garden. And the Tour Barn is being finished! The new home of our gift shop, petting zoo, learning stations, hand craft lessons, and a host of other events The gambrel roof, Amish built barn, served our Pumpkin Festival this fall for its first assignment, and then hosted two weeks of the Living Nativity - even during Oklahoma's worst ever ice storm.
